The right arm is still constrained while its measured x coordinate is 0.138 m. Perhaps a target at x = 0.08 m with the +90° Y-rotation orientation would be reachable. The roughly 50 mm position error for the rejected x = 0 target suggests a possible limit near x = 0.05 m, but that is only a hypothesis. The left basket is at x = -0.26 m, so I may need a different orientation or route. Returning to the earlier top-down orientation might help. The high target at y = -0.06 m and z = 1.08 m could also be limiting reach. Earlier, the left arm’s target at y = 0.015 m and z = 1.08 m failed, while lowering z to 1.04 m helped.
Lowering the right link6 to z = 1.0 m might improve lateral reach, but I estimate the held car’s bottom would be at z = 0.84 m, below the basket rim at about z = 0.89 m. Moving across the baskets at that height could cause a collision. I could first move to y = -0.18 m, in front of the baskets, then lower to z = 1.0 m, rotate, and cross there before approaching the basket at y = 0 and z = 1.02 m. From the current right y coordinate of -0.106 m, another option is to move toward the robot to y = -0.22 m at z = 1.10 m for clearance, then rotate and cross at y = -0.22 m with a lower height. At link6 z = 1.0 m, the estimated car bottom at z = 0.84 m would clear the wooden toys’ estimated tops at z = 0.82 m by only 2 cm. A link6 height of z = 1.05 m, putting the car bottom around z = 0.89 m, would be better. Reaching x = 0 at y = -0.22 m may be easier because it is closer to the right base. Whether the arm could then reach the left basket at y = -0.01 m remains uncertain.
A transfer to the left arm at the center is another option, but the left arm currently holds the watch. It would need to place the watch first. The right arm could bring the car to x = 0, y = -0.2 m, and the left arm could then receive or pick it up and place it in the left basket. That adds operations but may be easier than continuing to fight the cross-table reach constraint. A direct handoff at the car’s current position near x = 0.138 m, y = -0.1 m is not possible while the left gripper holds the watch.
Moving the watch from x = -0.424 m toward the middle basket at x = 0 while the right arm stays at x = 0.138 m could bring the arms too close. Their x separation would be 0.138 m, and each set of fingers may occupy about 0.1 m. Separating them in y could help: the watch’s destination is at y = -0.01 m, while the right car could be parked in front at y = -0.25 m. I could move the right arm to [0.25, -0.25, 1.05] m and perhaps rotate it there while the left carries the watch through y = -0.2 m toward [0, -0.01, 1.02] m. After the left releases the watch, the right could bring the car to x = 0, y = -0.2 m for a handoff or an overhead pickup, then retreat. That would be more complex but potentially robust. Still, the right arm may be able to cross with a better orientation and a lower, closer route.
I am uncertain about the bases and the arms’ effective reach. If the right base is at x = 0.3 m, the left basket at x = -0.26 m requires 0.56 m of lateral reach. Could that exceed the workspace regardless of orientation? Perhaps the task expects the left arm to handle cars destined for the left basket, even when they start on the right, or expects a handoff. I do not know whether both arms can reach all baskets.
The ARX X5’s reach might be around 0.55 m, but that is an unverified estimate. The bases might be at x = ±0.6 m, y = -0.5 m, whereas the initial link6 positions were at x = ±0.3 m, y = -0.352 m, z = 0.922 m. If the right base were at x = 0.45 m, the left basket at x = -0.26 m would be 0.71 m away laterally, exceeding a hypothetical 0.6 m reach. A handoff might then be needed. The left arm reaching the right car directly could also require about 0.8 m, so that may not solve the problem. The initial cars at x = -0.128 m and x = 0.375 m naturally suited the left and right arms respectively. Perhaps the actual arm reach is closer to 0.8 m.
My tentative visual interpretation places the right white arm body near pixel (550, 80) in the high-camera view, with its base outside the image at the bottom right. From the starting right link6 position [0.3, -0.352, 0.922] m, I wondered whether the base might be near [0.45, -0.60, 0.85] m. I estimated a horizontal distance of about 0.99 m to the left basket near [-0.26, -0.01] m, which would seem unreachable under that hypothesis. Alternatively, with baskets near x = ±0.26 m, y = 0 and a right base at [0.3, -0.6] m, I estimated about 0.83 m of reach; a hypothetical ARX X5 reach of 0.63 m would be insufficient. The left arm placing the first car from x = -0.128 m into the basket at x = -0.26 m was straightforward, whereas the right car’s destination requires crossing. The left arm reaching the right car at x = 0.38 m, y = -0.15 m from a hypothetical base at x = -0.3 m, y = -0.6 m would similarly require about 0.83 m. These estimates do not establish the actual reach or intended manipulation strategy.
Could the bases instead have y = 0? The arms appear to extend from the bottom foreground, in negative y, toward their starting link6 positions at y = -0.352 m and z = 0.922 m, so a base near y = -0.75 m seems another possibility. The arm reach might be about 0.75 m. I tentatively estimate the table’s y extent as -0.5 to 0.3 m. With baskets at y = 0.03 m and a base at y = -0.55 m, the forward distance would be 0.58 m; combined with 0.56 m of lateral crossing, I estimate about 0.8 m of reach. A target at z = 1.08 m might add about 0.2 m above the base and require around 0.83 m, exceeding that hypothetical 0.75 m reach. Lowering z to 0.95 m could help, but crossing at z = 0.96 m would put the car bottom around z = 0.80 m, below the estimated rim height of 0.89 m. It would need to approach in front at y = -0.15 m and then rise before entering the basket. Tilting the gripper might let the car extend forward without moving link6 as far: a horizontal orientation could extend it about 0.15 m along +Y while link6 stays near y = -0.16 m and x = -0.1 m. That would be difficult, and I have not established its feasibility.
A center transfer remains a robust fallback if the right arm cannot cross. There are 940 control steps left, so there is ample budget for an extra pickup. I considered a handoff near x = -0.05 m. The right arm can currently reach x = 0.138 m and may reach x = 0 with a lower, closer target; the left arm may also reach the center, where the center watch was estimated at x = 0.093 m. A possible handoff pose is [0, -0.20, 0.99] m, with the car bottom estimated at z = 0.83 m. After placing the watch at [0, -0.01, 1.02] m, the left arm could move toward the car.
Putting the car down on a clear section of table and regrasping it may be easier and more stable than a direct handoff. The right arm could place it at x = 0, y = -0.22 m, then retract so the left can pick it up. An intermediate table placement is compatible with ultimately putting it into the left basket. I need to avoid the center watch near [0.093, -0.138] m and the wooden toys. A spot near x = 0, y = -0.28 m might be clear. The front-center table area near pixel (320, 320) may correspond to x = 0, y = -0.29 m. One possible plan is to bring the right car to [0, -0.30, 0.95] m and release it while the left carries the watch to the middle basket. The right arm could then handle the right wooden toy while the left picks up the car from the center. This adds one grasp, but it is manageable. Tossing the car directly into the left basket would not be safe; a handoff or supported regrasp is preferable.
Before committing to a transfer, I’ll try moving the right arm to [0.02, -0.22, 1.02] m with the +90° Y-rotation quaternion. From its measured pose [0.138, -0.106, 1.079] m, the position change is [-0.118, -0.114, -0.059] m, with an estimated whole-position distance of 0.175 m. The remaining orientation change is about 0.54 rad. The precheck may pass because this target is lower and closer to the base. If it does, I can assess progress toward the front center before deciding how to proceed.
At the same time, I’ll move the left watch only partway toward the middle basket, targeting [-0.22, -0.12, 1.04] m with the earlier top-down orientation. The x and y changes are +0.204 m and +0.08 m, with an estimated position distance of 0.219 m. The proposed targets have about 0.24 m of x separation, which seems acceptable. Later, a left approach to the middle basket while the right stays at x = 0.02 m, y = -0.22 m would give about 0.21 m of y separation; the fingers and held objects might remain about 0.2 m apart. I can defer that final watch approach until the right arm is parked at the front.
I’ll use eight control steps, keep both grippers closed, retain the left quaternion [0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5], and target the right quaternion [0.70710678, 0, 0.70710678, 0], all in wxyz order. If the right precheck fails, neither arm will move, and I’ll adjust the targets from the same observation.
