The high-camera view seems to show both watches lifted slightly. The left ring was originally centered near pixel (161, 243) and is now around (156, 237), with its bottom at image y = 251 rather than 255. The right ring was originally near (490, 235) and is now around (495, 230), perhaps also lifted. In the wrist views, the loops retain nearly the same relative size and position. Could the small image changes be consistent with camera descent? The measured end effectors actually rose by 0.024 m, while the ring centers remain near image y = 300. I take that as evidence that the watches moved with the cameras and are grasped.
I should raise them enough to clear the basket rims before transport. At an end-effector height of z = 1.04 m, the fingertip would be near z = 0.882 m, while I estimate the rims at z = 0.83–0.85 m. How far does the watch extend below the tip? At the grasp height of z = 0.923 m, the tip was around z = 0.765 m and the watch bottom around z = 0.75 m, giving an estimated bottom offset of -0.173 m relative to the end effector. At z = 1.04 m, the bottom would therefore be around z = 0.867 m, only 0.027 m above a rim at z = 0.84 m. A height of z = 1.08 m would put the bottom around z = 0.907 m and provide better clearance. For the immediate lift, I’ll target z = 1.07 m with eight steps, perhaps producing about 0.12 m of actual upward motion.
Both held watches belong in the left basket, so the right arm would need to carry its watch across the center of the workspace. I could proceed sequentially: the left arm places and releases its watch, then retracts before the right arm carries its watch above the middle basket and into the left basket. Moving both toward the left simultaneously might be efficient, but it introduces collision risk. A safer option is to place the left-arm watch first while the right arm holds at approximately (0.368, -0.1, 1.07) m. The left arm could then retract toward (x, y) = (-0.45, -0.25) m or its initial position before the right arm proceeds.
I am unsure whether the right arm can reach the left basket. A target around x = -0.3 m, y = 0.06 m might require roughly 0.9 m of reach from the right base, whereas the maximum reach might be 0.75 m. From the right arm’s starting end-effector position near (0.3, -0.35) m, that basket location is approximately 0.72 m away horizontally at a proposed height near z = 1.0 m; perhaps that exceeds a 0.6 m reach. I could check with the kinematic precheck later.
The left basket center is probably near (x, y) = (-0.3, 0.07) m. Perhaps the right arm can reach its right side near (-0.15, 0.05) m even if it cannot reach the center. I estimate the basket width as 0.24 m, with its x extent roughly -0.43 to -0.17 m and its right edge around -0.18 m. A placement at (-0.20, 0.08) m might fit inside that edge. However, if the right shoulder’s reach is only about 0.65 m and its base is near (0.3, -0.65) m, reaching (-0.2, 0.08) m would require approximately 0.87 m. That seems unlikely, though perhaps this sorting task allows both arms to reach all baskets.
My kinematic estimates remain uncertain. The ARX X5 is a small six-degree-of-freedom arm with a reach perhaps around 0.55 m, and the bases might be near (±0.3, -0.55) m. The episode-start end effectors were near (±0.3, -0.352, 0.921) m, while the baskets at y = 0.08 m are about 0.43 m farther forward. An additional link6 extension of about 0.4 m seems plausible for the basket aligned with each arm. Crossing from the right arm to the left basket adds about 0.6 m laterally and 0.45 m forward, giving roughly 0.75 m, which may exceed the available reach. The visual bases might instead be near (±0.45, -0.7) m, with reach around 0.65 m. Could the right-base-to-left-basket distance be about 0.6 m? A horizontal distance around 0.96 m to (-0.3, 0.08) m seems too large.
If the right arm cannot place its watch directly, I could use the left arm for all three watches and the right arm for the bars and peppers. The right arm could put its watch down in a clear central location near (0.02, -0.10) m for the left arm to collect later. Temporarily putting it in the middle basket would leave it in the wrong basket until recovered; I do not know whether native validation checks only the final arrangement. Returning it to its original table location would be simpler, although the left arm would then need to reach over and grasp it after placing its own watch. That is wasteful but manageable.
A direct handoff is another possibility: after placing its first watch, the left arm could receive the right-held watch near (0, -0.15) m, grasping from the other side before the right gripper opens. That would require precise alignment and compatible grasp orientations, so it is not my preferred option. Returning the watch to the table is simpler. Three watch cycles with the left arm, while the right handles two peppers and perhaps the bars, should still be feasible for seven objects within the remaining budget.
I could also attempt a staged right-arm path to the left basket and fall back to a central table placement if it cannot reach. A front-right placement target might be (-0.19, -0.0, 1.08) m. From the current right-arm position at x = 0.368 m, y = -0.098 m, that requires approximately 0.558 m of lateral travel and +0.1 m in y, divided into bounded actions. Another candidate is (-0.25, 0.03, 1.08) m, about 0.65 m from the current position, so it cannot be commanded directly under the 0.25 m limit. Intermediate positions could be (0.18, 0.05, 1.08) m, then (x, y) = (-0.05, 0.06) m, then x = -0.22 m in the left basket. A failed precheck would execute no motion, allowing me to reconsider safely.
For such a path, the left arm should release and retract before the right arm extends across the workspace. The watch bottom would be around z = 0.90 m while crossing above the blue basket, but I also need clearance for the arm bodies. Perhaps an arm length of 0.85 m, or a visually estimated reach of 0.75 m, would make the crossing possible; I should inspect the links rather than assume it. One possible staging arrangement has the left arm near (x, y) = (-0.32, 0.06) m and the right near (0.12, -0.0) m, separated by about 0.44 m. After the left arm releases and retreats, the right could proceed. If it cannot, it can leave the watch on clear central table space for the left arm.
For now, I’ll choose the simpler sequence: place the left-arm watch first while the right arm holds its watch clear. The left end effector is currently at (-0.335, -0.11, 0.947) m. I’ll first raise both arms to z = 1.07 m with eight steps and keep both grippers closed. After that, I can move the left arm toward the basket. I briefly considered moving to y = +0.03 m; with the basket center likely near (-0.30, 0.07) m, a candidate end-effector target is (-0.32, 0.05, 1.08) m, approximately 0.17 m away. The right arm can hold at (0.368, -0.098, 1.07) m while the left places its watch.
