The right opening command is stable at 0.185, and I consider the chocolate held. The left arm holds the green pepper at [-0.155, -0.104, 0.96] m, and the right arm holds the chocolate at [0.364, -0.291, 0.938] m. The pepper belongs in the right basket and the chocolate in the left basket. Direct cross-table placement would exceed the arms’ reach and risk crossing their paths, so I’ll exchange the objects through two separate table handoff patches, then retrieve them with the arms that can reach their destination baskets.
I need patches accessible to both arms and sufficiently separated for safe placement and retrieval. For the green pepper, I first considered front-center positions [-0.06, -0.30] m or [0, -0.30] m in world XY. The left arm previously placed a yellow pepper at [0.06, -0.29] m, so [-0.06, -0.30] m should be easier for it. Can the right arm reach x = -0.06 m? It successfully approached the yellow pepper at [0.05, -0.357] m, so the additional cross-table reach might work, perhaps with a tilted wrist. A pepper patch at [0.02, -0.33] m would give the right arm a more reliable approach and uses an area now empty after removing the yellow pepper.
For the chocolate, I considered [0.16, -0.30] m or [0.12, -0.30] m. The left arm has demonstrated reach to x = 0.06 m, but x = 0.12 m may be near its cross-table limit. It reached [-0.06, -0.12] m and [0.06, -0.29] m; reaching [0.12, -0.30] m would involve about 0.42 m across from its base and might be possible with a tilt. A more forward patch at [0.06, -0.40] m could be accessible to both arms, but I need to check the table boundary. My initial boundary estimates were around y = -0.43 m, or y = -0.45 m for the table at z = 0.75 m and the bottom of the head image at pixel y = 480. Another rough inverse-projection estimate was y ≈ -0.48 m, suggesting a patch at y = -0.37 m would be safe.
Two patches at [0.02, -0.33] m for the pepper and [0.16, -0.33] m for the chocolate would be separated horizontally, but the left arm might struggle to reach the chocolate at x = 0.16 m. Alternatively, I could put the chocolate at [0.06, -0.40] m and the pepper at [0.02, -0.25] m, separated by 0.15 m in Y. Those areas are clear now that the central chocolate and watch have been removed. The left pepper transfer from [-0.155, -0.104, 0.96] m to [0.02, -0.25, 1.0] m would be an estimated 0.233 m move, followed by descent to 0.93 m and release. A right-arm target of [0.12, -0.38, 1.0] m would be an estimated 0.267 m from its current pose, exceeding the 0.25 m command limit, so it would need an intermediate pose such as [0.22, -0.34, 0.98] m before continuing toward [0.06, -0.40, 0.94] m.
Could the fingers collide with the table edge at y = -0.40 m? A rough estimate put the front edge near y = -0.52 m. Using head pixel (320, 480) and table height z = 0.75 m, I obtain normalized vertical image coordinate v = 0.8327, ray component d_y = -0.866 × 0.8327 + 0.5 = -0.221, and d_z = -0.5 × 0.8327 - 0.866 = -1.282. With t = 0.435, the world Y coordinate is -0.41 - 0.096 = -0.506 m. That suggests usable table extends to about y = -0.48 m, so y = -0.40 m should be safe. I initially associated y = -0.352 m with the robot base, but that is the initial end-effector Y coordinate; the base front may instead be around y = -0.5 m. The forward handoff is close to the robot body, but being closer to the base should help reach. The right end effector is currently at y = -0.291 m, so that transfer also seems straightforward.
Another pair would be a chocolate patch at [0.10, -0.38] m and a pepper patch at [-0.02, -0.26] m. The left chocolate pickup would involve roughly 0.4 m across and 0.1 m forward, comparable to the demonstrated handoff at [0.06, -0.29] m with about 0.36 m across and 0.2 m forward. The right pepper pickup would involve about 0.32 m across and 0.2 m forward. I estimate the patches’ separation as 0.17 m, compared with a chocolate length of about 0.1 m and pepper size of about 0.07 m. Grippers spanning roughly ±0.05 m could still pass close during simultaneous final placement, so I should place sequentially while keeping the other arm clear.
My initial staged plan was to move the left pepper above a patch G = [0, -0.25] m at end-effector height 1.0 m and carry the right chocolate toward C = [0.12, -0.38] m at height 1.0 m. I questioned whether the direct right move was about 0.304 m, then estimated it as 0.271 m, so it would need [0.22, -0.34, 0.98] m as an intermediate, about 0.168 m away. The left move was estimated at 0.231 m and the right intermediate move at 0.169 m. Over 12 control steps, the endpoints would be separated by 0.22 m in X and 0.09 m in Y. I estimated the downward-held pepper’s bottom at z = 0.824 m and the tilted chocolate’s bottom around z = 0.82 m, clear of the otherwise empty table.
I would then lower the pepper to end-effector height 0.93 m and release it. The right arm could move from [0.22, -0.34, 0.98] m to [0.12, -0.38, 1.0] m, about 0.11 m away. At those poses, I estimated arm separation as 0.185 m. To avoid a close pass, it would be safer to hold the right arm while the left lowers and releases, then retract the left to [-0.15, -0.20, 1.02] m while the right advances.
The chocolate’s tilted grasp complicates the handoff coordinates because an object patch is not the same as the link6 target. I estimate the held offset as 0.16 m along local X. At grasp, the end effector was at z = 0.903 m and the chocolate center at z = 0.758 m, giving my separate estimate of an offset of -0.145 m along local X. To reverse the grasp for placement, I would use the object patch minus the rotated local-X offset, with an end-effector height around 0.903 m. The right wrist’s tilted local-X direction is approximately [-0.287, 0.410, -0.866]. For C = [0.12, -0.38] m, I estimated the required end-effector target as [C_x + 0.046, C_y - 0.066, 0.903] m, or [0.166, -0.446, 0.903] m.
That target is close to the table’s front edge and potentially the robot base. I was using a tentative right-base position near x = 0.3 m, y = -0.352 m; an end effector at x = 0.166 m, y = -0.446 m, z = 0.903 m could be reachable but might create self-collision concerns. The original right grasp had the end effector at [0.364, -0.291, 0.903] m and the bar center near [0.315, -0.227] m, so the end effector was already on the front side of the bar. Moving the object to [0.12, -0.38] m would require moving the wrist farther forward and leftward.
I could instead choose chocolate-patch Y = -0.33 m, keeping the required wrist Y near -0.396 m, and pepper-patch Y = -0.22 m, with an estimated patch separation of 0.16 m. Would the left arm then be able to grasp the chocolate at [0.12, -0.33] m? A top-down approach at end-effector height 0.92 m might be reachable because the patch is farther forward, but the object is still thin and the tilted side grasp is more reliable. The left arm could use the same world orientation as the right arm: approximately [0.4, -0.443, 0.231, 0.768] in wxyz order. Its dot product with the downward quaternion is 0.2 + 0.2215 + 0.1155 + 0.384 = 0.921, corresponding to an estimated angle of 0.797 rad, below the 1.0 rad limit. With that orientation, the left pickup wrist would need to be around [0.166, -0.396, 0.903] m.
That left-arm reach may be too demanding. From a tentative left base at x = -0.3 m, x = 0.166 m is about 0.466 m across. I am uncertain about the forward component, perhaps relative to a base Y near -0.5 m. The earlier left handoff pose [0.06, -0.29, 0.94] m worked, but the new pose combines more lateral reach with a lower height, even though it is closer in Y. It might not be reachable.
It would be better to reorient the held chocolate so the left arm can grasp it more easily. I considered rotating its long axis toward world Y, using a downward wrist with zero yaw or a forward tilt, and placing it with end-effector X equal to the object-patch X and Y about 0.06 m behind the patch. That could give a left pickup wrist around x = 0.06 m, y = -0.39 m, with about 0.36 m of cross-table reach already demonstrated. If the grasp is secure, the chocolate should rotate with the gripper during transport.
The simplest useful orientation may be the same tilted quaternion that succeeded for the first chocolate: approximately [0.791, -0.203, 0.457, 0.352] in wxyz order. Its local axes are approximately local X = [0.335, 0.372, -0.866], local Y = [-0.743, 0.669], and local Z = [0.579, 0.644, 0.5]. Would that orient the placed bar’s horizontal long axis along [0.669, 0.743]? The right bar’s original horizontal direction was approximately [0.564, -0.826]. Changing from the right grasp’s 35° yaw to the first grasp’s -42° yaw rotates it by -77°. My estimate is that its original angle of -55.7° becomes -55.7° - 77° = -132.7°, equivalent for the bar’s axis to 47.3°, or approximately [0.679, 0.735]. That is consistent with the desired diagonal direction.
With this reorientation, the right arm could place the bar along approximately [0.67, 0.74], and the left arm could use the already verified first-bar grasp orientation. The wrist’s horizontal offset behind the bar would be about [-0.05, -0.056] m. For a chocolate patch at [0.06, -0.33] m, that gives a pickup wrist around [0.01, -0.386, 0.903] m, only about 0.31 m across from the left base and much easier to reach.
The direct orientation change from the current approximate quaternion [0.4, -0.443, 0.231, 0.768] to [0.791, -0.203, 0.457, 0.352] is too large for one command. I estimated their dot product as 0.316 + 0.09 + 0.105 + 0.270 = 0.781, giving an angle of 1.347 rad, above the 1.0 rad limit. I can rotate in two stages through the neutral downward quaternion [0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5]. The first dot-product estimate is 0.2 + 0.2215 + 0.1155 + 0.384 = 0.921, giving 0.797 rad. The second is 0.3955 + 0.1015 + 0.2285 + 0.176 = 0.9015, giving 0.899 rad. Both changes are within the command limit.
Could rotating through the downward pose turn the bar from horizontal to vertical or make it hang or swing? The object should remain fixed relative to the fingers if the width grasp is secure, but its whole orientation will change. I should perform these rotations at height with adequate clearance. The added stages are acceptable. I briefly reconsidered a neutral world-Y tilt with a quaternion component near 0.791, but the first-bar tilted orientation actually points local X diagonally forward in +X and +Y; its approximately -0.05 m wrist X offset is what makes the left pickup easier.
I still need to settle on the two patches. The pepper has no orientation requirement and can be placed and retrieved with downward wrists. I considered G = [-0.02, -0.23] m, in the now-empty area near the former left watch at [-0.07, -0.21] m, or the previously used front-center area G = [0, -0.30] m. A chocolate patch C = [0.12, -0.40] m would give separation, but its pickup geometry remains awkward.
A pair G = [-0.04, -0.24] m and C = [0.08, -0.38] m would be about 0.184 m apart. The right pepper pickup would involve about 0.34 m across and 0.24 m forward, comparable to its successful yellow-pepper pickup near [0.05, -0.36] m. With the reoriented chocolate, the left pickup wrist for C would be [0.03, -0.436, 0.903] m. That is close to the front edge at y = -0.506 m, although the fingers extend forward and upward into the table area. I was again tentatively associating the robot base with y = -0.35 m and z = 0.922 m; reach and clearance at wrist Y = -0.436 m would still need checking.
I’ll choose the slightly less forward chocolate patch C = [0.08, -0.34] m instead, requiring wrist Y near -0.396 m. The pepper patch will be G = [-0.04, -0.22] m. Their estimated separation is sqrt(0.12² + 0.12²) = 0.17 m. The left pepper placement is straightforward, the right arm should be able to retrieve it, and the reoriented chocolate can be placed and picked up with an estimated wrist target [0.03, -0.396, 0.903] m. I expect these patches to be accessible, but I’ll avoid having both wrists at the final handoff poses simultaneously. Moving the green pepper slightly toward the center also serves the purpose of making it available to the right arm.
For the first stage, I’ll carry the green pepper above G with the left end-effector target [-0.04, -0.22, 1.0] m and a downward wrist. I estimate that move as 0.163 m. The right arm will move to the raised intermediate pose [0.25, -0.30, 1.02] m while rotating the chocolate to the neutral downward quaternion. I estimate the rotation as 0.797 rad and initially estimate the translation as 0.136 m. The arms should end about 0.29 m apart. I’ll use 12 control steps with both grippers closed.
Next, I plan to lower the pepper to end-effector height 0.93 m at G and release it, perhaps using five descent steps and three release steps. The right arm can then rotate toward the first-bar tilted orientation and approach the chocolate placement pregrasp at [0.03, -0.396, 1.0] m. From [0.25, -0.30, 1.02] m, I estimate that translation as 0.238 m and the rotation as 0.899 rad. The cross-table precheck might fail, although the demonstrated right-arm pickup near [0.05, -0.357] m makes me think it may work. A safer split would use [0.15, -0.35, 1.0] m first, about 0.117 m away, then continue to [0.03, -0.396, 1.0] m.
While the left arm lowers and releases the pepper, the right arm could move to that nearer raised intermediate. I estimate the separation between left pose [-0.04, -0.22, 0.93] m and right pose [0.15, -0.35, 1.0] m as 0.228 m. Then the left can retract and the right can finish moving over the chocolate patch. I’ll lower the right end effector to [0.03, -0.396, 0.903] m with the first-bar tilted orientation, aiming to support the chocolate center near C = [0.08, -0.34, 0.758] m before releasing it gently. The left arm can retract to [-0.15, -0.20, 1.02] m and prepare to retrieve the chocolate after the right arm withdraws.
For retrieval, I considered retracting the right arm to [0.20, -0.20, 1.02] m, either retaining its tilt or returning downward for the pepper grasp. The left chocolate pregrasp would be [0.03, -0.396, 0.96] m with the verified tilted orientation. From the left retreat pose [-0.15, -0.20, 1.02] m, I estimate that move as 0.269 m, exceeding the 0.25 m limit, so it will need an intermediate such as [0, -0.32, 1.0] m.
The right arm could potentially move directly from the chocolate placement pose to a raised pepper pose [-0.04, -0.22, 0.99] m, estimated at 0.234 m away. I questioned whether returning from the first-bar tilt to downward would be about 0.67 rad. However, simultaneous retrieval paths might cross. I’ll favor first retracting the right arm to [0.15, -0.20, 1.02] m while the left approaches the chocolate, then approaching the pepper with the right arm while the left grasps the chocolate. I estimate the final wrists at [0.03, -0.396] m and [-0.04, -0.22] m would be about 0.19 m apart, with enough Y separation.
I’ll retrieve both objects using the established grasp sequences: a downward right-arm pepper grasp at G with end-effector height 0.93 m, and a tilted left-arm chocolate grasp at [0.03, -0.396, 0.903] m, allowing six closure steps and then a lift check. Once both holds are verified, the left chocolate can follow the earlier successful path through [-0.20, -0.10, 1.02] m to [-0.336, -0.034, 1.019] m over the left basket. The right pepper can approach through [0.20, -0.18, 1.03] m and [0.26, -0.03, 1.03] m, then reach [0.292, 0.018, 1.0] m and tilt inward before release. Those transport paths should separate as the left arm moves left and the right arm moves right.
After verifying these final placements, I’ll clear and reset both arms. I estimate the remaining transfers at roughly 250 control steps, within the 715 steps available. I still need to ensure every object is correctly sorted and the required reset is completed before relying on native success.
For the immediate action at obs_000385, I’ll move the left arm from [-0.155, -0.104, 0.96] m to [-0.04, -0.22, 1.0] m with its downward orientation and closed gripper. I’ll move the right arm from [0.364, -0.291, 0.938] m to [0.25, -0.30, 1.02] m, also targeting the downward quaternion [0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5] while keeping its gripper closed. My final estimates are 0.163 m for the left move, 0.139 m for the right translation, and 0.797 rad for the right rotation. I’ll allow 12 steps and inspect the resulting poses, since either arm may move only partway.
